Hair transplantation for women is a no-shave solution (DHI without haircut) for female-pattern thinning, a high hairline or broad forehead, a widening parting, traction alopecia (tight hairstyles) and gaps caused by surgical or burn scars. It is not suitable for every woman, which is why the cause of hair loss is first established dermatologically.
Our clinic follows a dedicated protocol for female patients: hormone and iron profiles are reviewed, suitable candidates are treated with no-shave DHI while preserving existing hair, and those who are not candidates are offered PRP/mesotherapy and medical treatment instead.
Suitable for women with a healthy donor area who have a high hairline (broad forehead), a thinning parting (Ludwig 1–2), traction alopecia, surgical or burn scars, or gaps in the eyebrows or temples. Diffuse thinning, active telogen effluvium, alopecia areata and hormonal imbalance are treated first; in these cases PRP and medical therapy are recommended.
No. With no-shave DHI only a 3–4 cm area at the back, hidden by the hair above, is trimmed; you can wear your hair down straight after the procedure.
No. Female hair loss is often diffuse and the donor area may also be affected. That is why blood tests and a dermatological examination come first; we do not recommend a transplant to unsuitable candidates.
The first 3 months are the shedding phase; growth starts from month 4, is clearly visible at month 8 and complete at 12 months.
The transplanted follicles are permanent, but to protect your existing hair our doctor may recommend PRP, topical or oral support. This is set out in writing in your follow-up plan.
